Yard Sale Finds Sat Jan 29th - Pics!

So, I thought it might be fun to upload some pictures of our latest yard sale finds. We were out from 7:30 to 10 am today (with a quick breakfast break at McDonalds) and spent a total of $7.75 on this stash. Enjoy the photos =)

Love, love this baby blanket for $2. Sweet (hand crocheted?) flowers, buttery soft yellow and white. The little blanket looks like it's never been used.

Sweet little bunny hat for my little lady - new with tag still attached.

Cute rompers for the summer months including matching shorts. You can't tell, but the purple set has little white dots on it and the green set, flowers.

Thick red jumper for the chillier months. Will look adorable paired with tights. We got a matching long sleeved onesie with the jumper, but it has a few stains I didn't notice right away. Trying to get the stains out, but if it doesn't work, oh well ;)

We paid a total of $5 for the baby clothing. Not bad considering I pay a few bucks per piece of clothing I buy at the re-sale boutiques and that's not even too bad. We also got the little lady a cloth book for .75 cents that I'll have to upload a picture of later. Oh and Tyler got an Interpol CD thrown in w/the baby lot. Sad he didn't find more today, maybe next time. Notice my new Bobby pillow too? Got that for $14 w/cover last week (new in stores the same will cost $40 or more).

And this item wasn't part of our yard sale finds, but was the surprise gift we got from my aunt a few weeks ago that we absolutely love...thank you!


I took a few more pictures of the baby's room to date, so I'll have to post another entry later today or tomorrow. Excited to share more pictures w/the aid of my super convenient picture phone!

Happenings!

It's been a little while so, here's a quick post on our happenings and my current thoughts,

• @ 20 weeks - I can finally feel the baby kicking! Before say last week, I wasn't sure if what I was feeling were genuine kicks or not, but now I can definitely tell the difference. They're especially easy to distinguish when I'm lying on my stomach (like now). It's like she's telling me to get off her! So cute.

• I'm still working and so appreciative for my job! It's allowed me to slowly budget for and buy baby items. Friends and family tell me just to wait for the shower, but I'm one of preparation and wouldn't be able to do that without majorly stressing. I still have a nice sized list for the baby shower, but it's nice seeing quite a few baby things filling up her room.

• Tyler and I have been reading like fiends. Since Christmas I've read three books (almost on my fourth) and Tyler has read just as many. We're quite the grown up couple...going to bed at 9 to be able to read a few chapters before sleep. I'd like to travel and visit family more, but reading is cheaper.

• The weather here as of late has been awesome! I know it sounds like a lame point to discuss, but when the rest of the US is in the 30s and we're in the high 70s, you feel lucky - more than lucky - you feel spoiled. I went out looking for long, spring dresses and haven't found much. I guess the rest of the world thinks it's still winter. Bummer!

Ok, well that's all I got for right now. I want to work on the house a little today - maybe even upload some before and after pictures? Little projects, not the big ones Tyler is scared of, ones that involve going to Ross and the Goodwill, not Home Depot. We'll see.

It's a Girl!

This last Wednesday we had our 18 week ultrasound and got to find out the sex of our baby. If you haven't heard it's a girl! What a surprise. We've been thinking boy all along based on all the old wives' tales of prediction. Everything predicted boy. In a way thinking boy all along and then hearing "girl" made it all the more fun. I'm glad we're not able to determine gender on our own...not knowing and finding out is half the fun!

Anyways, besides finding out the gender, we were able to view our baby's organs and see how they were all developing wonderfully. From the symmetrical brain to the four chambers of the hearts to her little bladder and spine, everything's looking great! It really made me feel humble knowing I'm part of growing something so special and she's developing like she should.

Some stats and facts on our little lady:

• She's in the 87th percentile in growth, meaning that she's not a small baby by any means, but she's also not a large baby.

• The ultrasound was done at 18 weeks (out of 40), but in growth, she was measuring 18 weeks and 4 days.

• She had a heartbeat of 138 beats per minutes (the last two measurements have been 152 and 151 beats per minute), very much in the normal range.

• She was head down during the ultrasound and moved on us, but wasn't crazy active so, I'm hoping this means she'll be an easy going baby after birth.

• We got two shots of her face in 3D/4D which were so neat and unexpected (I didn't think our office did them). Her face is slim, but the nurse practitioner assures us that's the way she's supposed to look at this stage since she doesn't have any fat on her.

• She now weighs 9 oz, but I still haven't felt much in the way of movement.

• She had her left arm up over her head in the 4D facial shots. It looks like she's giving us a thumbs up!

The day after the ultrasound I went to a little re-sale boutique by our house and bought a few newborn dresses and girly shirts. I couldn't resist it! We'll have to upload the ultrasound pictures to this post later. Be on the lookout for them!

Tyler's Best of 2010 Lists!

Well, 2010 is now a thing of the past. We are now into the much cooler and more awesome year of 2011. I say that it’s cooler and more awesome, but we are only one day into it so how can I really know? All I need to know is that this year, Jackie and I will become parents. What more really matters!?!
